The three photos I chose was the light bulb and the two windows in block 1 one, top floor. It inspired me as there's lights in the foreground and then the background makes black strips then the light bulb Abstraction was really good I improved my taking of the angles and the framing.
If I was to do this shoot again I would change the framing of my photos to make sure the composition is correct.
The Formal Elements
Focus:Which areas appear clearest or sharpest in the photograph? Which do not?
Light:Which areas of the photograph are brightest? Are there any shadows? Does the photograph allow you to guess the time of day? Is the light natural or artificial? Harsh or soft? Reflected or direct?
Line: Are there objects in the photograph that act as lines? Are they straight, curvy, thin, thick? Do the lines create direction in the photograph? Do they outline? Do the lines show movement or energy?
Repetition: Are there any objects, shapes or lines which repeat and create a pattern?
Shape: Do you see geometric (straight edged) or organic (curvy) shapes? Which are they?
Space:Is there depth to the photograph or does it seem shallow? What creates this appearance? Are there important negative (empty) spaces in addition to positive (solid) spaces? Is there depth created by spatial illusions i.e. perspective?
Texture: If you could touch the surface of the photograph how would it feel? How do the objects in the picture look like they would feel?
Value/Tone: Is there a range of tones from dark to light? Where is the darkest value? Where is the lightest?

I chose lines because i thought it was an important element in abstract photography. I think these photos were successful because i zoomed in and framed my pictures more carefully. I found it easy because i went around the blocks too find other lines and colours.
The work was from Man Ray I chose this photos because it inspires me with the work of the white and black because it stands out well, but i think it will be better if the background is in focus of the flashlight in the picture above.
He used equipment too use shapes to reflect so it can stand out better and more inspired too Another people can be more Amazing and more abstract. Photograms
Went in the dark room the i got in Equipment like paper and light bulb and scissors and 3 seconds watch then i put it in the water for one min then i put in the chemical water then i put it in the normal water. Composition ,lines, shapes and texture help to make a good abstract photogram. It is important you shouldn't be able to tell what objects you've used in your photogram. Expose it to light longer Put less object Spread the object out more |
Aaron Siskind
Aaron Siskind was an American photographer he was a part of the abstract expressionist movement. I found that Siskind's pictures look like a mixture of paintings and photos.
i like his work because of the framing and the focus is sharp and the texture is detailed.

Jaromir Funke
Jaromir Funke
Jaromír funke was a photographer and he played light and shadow. He used different values, through using mirrors to create reflection of shapes. His focus in the first image is on the ball and the glass cube. In school his favourite subject was art and graphics. My opinion is that he used a lot of mirrors and lines and shapes.
How to create a picture like Jaromir Funke
1. Get a mirror
2. Get equipments a bottle a lid and Triangle and a frame
3. You need a camera and a sheet of paper to reflect on the wall and you need light to make shadows
4.They need to go to a dark room to do this
5.How close you it stand
6. how you place your equipment to make shadow and more abstract
7. How you place your camera in the background
8. how to reflect the light to the wall better

For the image i used equipments to move it around to make it more abstract and i got my camera to put it on black and white then i used a mirror and a shell bowl to make shadows and reflections on the wall so the mirror can reflect to the light to make it sunny and i really enjoy it really well i but i wanted to change the wire because is in the way to take a picture and i hope you enjoy my abstract photos you can do this at school or at home.
Abstract Photoshop
I went on photoshop and use clone and paint tools and circle shapes in my image and framing to change the colour purple and make to explore it so people can see my lovely pictures and the first one i got cotton paper in the art block so i can cover my face i put materials in the background and it was really good to put different colours and the foreground and the shadows in the background is amazing.

1) I chose it because of the white lines in the river.
2) The bridge of the background of the river. 3) The light of the lines is focus because the line is straight. 4) Is important because there different colours like orange. white grey and black. 5) The focus of the image and he used his camera to view he's lens forward to see bridge and the rocks. |
I used a circle cutter to take pictures of Amany and isis and i went around the school took pictures of buildings and ceilling
I used people to volteerl so i used i paper to cover the camera so you wont see there face and i used jet to be my assits.
What i did i used the red square cutter and i went around the school to take pictures of bins and playgrounds and the bench and the stair way a display .
I used Jett to be my model so i can take pictures of him as my foreground and use a folder so you cant see there faces and i change the colour in photoshop red because is my favourite colour and i was in class when i took this picture is unique because of the light because really abstract. The framing of the picture is the same as Saul Leiter because of the shape and shadow.
